RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
About Me
My name is Wendy Mendez and I am a 18 year old senior here at Sport and Medical Sciences Academy where I've attended for the past 6 years. I'm the 2nd to oldest of 4 children and I will be the 1st one to graduate from high school and have plans of attending college. My parents migrated to the US. 17 years ago when I was barely 9 months of being born. Even though almost nobody knows about this for me it's very important because me being here my entire life and not being able to go to Guatemala where I was born allows me to understand that succeeding on my goals could make this possible.
Almost 4 years ago I completed all my religious sacraments and since then I’ve been involved in St. Anne Immaculate Conception church in Hartford. Because of how religious my family is I am too. Even though some people may not think like me I do believe participating in church can be interesting. All I wanted to do was make the best out of my capstone project and I accomplished it because until the last day of me teaching my students I taught a group of great kids. Making lesson's about God may be difficult but impossible, and at the end of the day I loved how my students learned about it with excitement.
My Mission Statement
My mission was and is to help every family that desires get their children involved in religious education. I want my parents to see of what I’m capable of and that all their sacrifices towards me was worth it. After my high school career, I would like to keep furthering my education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) and get my Associates Degree.
